How To Get Your Message Out
This guide will outline strategies to better understand your target audience, help create relevant and engaging messages always with a call to action, and share best practices for communication channels and writing styles.
Heritage Grains Guidebook
From 2016 through 2021, Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance worked with a grassroots network of nearly 200 grain growers in varying climates, initially across the Western United States and eventually growing nationally and globally, in trialing over 250 varieties of ancient and heritage grains including Indigenous and alternative (pseudo) grains to determine varieties that can thrive in the changing climate conditions of the 21st century. Results of both the participatory grassroots trials and the research trials, including grower and grain profiles, are documented in this manual in an effort to inform and inspire others to grow these unique varieties of grains, and to support regionalized grain networks and localized food systems.
Fava Bean Recipe Book
While conducting their research on the economic and nitrogen benefits of fava beans as both a cash and cover crop, the project leaders at California State University- Chico also created a cookbook of globally inspired fava bean recipes.
Role of Birds on Farm: Self-Certification
This 10 lesson virtual course teaches agricultural professionals and farmers how to support beneficial birds and manage pest birds on farms. By learning how to assess the farm’s avian needs and opportunities, farms can be designed to provide for a diversity of beneficial birds. If pest birds are a problem, they can be discouraged with specific practices during the shorter periods when they cause damage. The sessions cover the latest research, tools and resources, and are given by experts in avian pest control, entomology, ornithology and conservation.
